Let’s get it on
When Covid was at its peak, and everyone was forced to keep social distancing, I realized, how much I needed human connection.
I used to see myself as a “loner” because since I was a child, I preferred being by myself, or be surrounded only by a few people.
But even when I did attend social events, to find belonging in a clique later on in life, I would feel drained quickly.
I now know that trying to find a feeling of belonging outside myself, is what made me feel lonely. Now I realize that I preferred to be a “loner” because I did not know how to just be myself around other people.
Quarantine and social distancing was a wake-up call for many people in various ways. I feel like we all learned some personal, important truths from it.
What I've personally come to realize is that authenticity and personal integrity are non-negotiable virtues. If we can find a way to open up just a little more than we are used to, we can make room for real human connection.
The artist @in.iko sings in the song “The Kings Affirmation”:
'Creators built different, they ancient, sooner than later all will be ours'
This resonates with me in various ways.
I truly believe that we were all born with a hunger to express who and what we are through our passions, gifts and talents. We all have interests, that just come natural to us. And when I say, they come natural to us, I mean, we are naturally drawn to do this specific thing (or even many things). We have a lust, to go after them and to explore. No one has to force us to do it because it naturally excites us. And by expressing ourselves through that thing, we give birth to something, that always wanted and needed to be revealed. That's what it means to be a creator. We are all creators.
The most amazing part of this kind of expression is that it is real. It makes room for real connection, if we dare to share ourselves in that way. And I honestly believe that it will make the world a better place.
I get to do exactly that through TJFantasy and my work as Merveilletheartist, and I can't put into words, how excited I am about this space, that J and I chose to create.
Hopefully you, our dear visitors and readers, get something good out of it.
Peace
